Singapore is a vibrant melting pot of cultures, making it a very common place for international marriages. As a hair and makeup artist, I often have the wonderful opportunity to work with Japanese and Singaporean couples, and their heartwarming stories always bring so much joy to my work.

Today, I am excited to share a beautiful pre-wedding photoshoot featuring a Japanese bride and her Singaporean groom. Their gentle and loving chemistry matched the soft, romantic style of the photos perfectly.

Hair & Makeup for the Pre-Wedding Shoot

To bring out her desired aesthetic of soft elegance, I carefully blended every detail of her makeup. We opted for delicate false eyelashes that accentuated her eyes naturally on camera while preserving her soft, effortless look.

For her hair, she wanted a relaxed updo styled into a simple chignon. She had kindly shared a few inspiration images with me beforehand, allowing us to discuss and select the perfect style together on the day of the shoot to suit her neckline and dress.

Since her hair is naturally fine, I took extra care during the prep stage to add volume and texture from the roots. This ensured her soft updo would hold its shape effortlessly against the humidity of Singapore throughout the outdoor session.

During the preparation, the couple was so warm and kind that the entire session felt relaxed and peaceful. It was such a soothing experience for me as well.

Despite the early morning start, the warm atmosphere they created made the morning feel so lovely and calm.

Captured in the soft morning light, the final photographs reflected their gentle connection beautifully. Looking at the finished pictures, I was absolutely captivated by how radiant they both looked.
